We moved into our house about two months ago and because we are bordering on the edge of a mountain and a national park we are waken each morning by a dawn chorus. I have always had a fascination with birds, as a child my father had two huge aviaries of birds under the apple tree close to the back door. They were canaries and budgerigars and there was always a sweet sound coming from the cages. I spent hours just watching them.
So now it has become a delightful task to try identity the ones that visit our backyard and who we greet the day with. One of them is a ‘Pied Currawong’. which is widespread down the Eastern coast of a Australia.
